you&#8217;ve made it over the hump of the 5S Methodology.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>We started with the first S &#8211; which is SORT.\u00a0 Sorting, as it pertains to safety, is determining the things that are essential from the things that are not essential.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Next, we covered the second S &#8211; which is STRAIGHTEN.\u00a0 Straightening, as it pertains to safety, is making everything that&#8217;s essential easily and efficiently accessible.\u00a0 In addition &#8211; it allows for a system of always knowing where those essential items are, who&#8217;s using them, and where they go when no longer needed.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Last week, we were at the halfway mark with the third S &#8211; which is SHINE.\u00a0 Shining, as it pertains to safety, is cleaning at regular and efficient intervals.\u00a0 And while doing so, inspecting everything around you to assure everything&#8217;s running properly.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>And that brings us to this week, which takes us to the fourth S &#8211; STANDARDIZE.\u00a0 Standardization, as it pertains to safety, is the organization of the first 3 S&#8217;s.\u00a0 It allows you to take sorting, order, and cleaning &#8211; and create routines that ensure all three are being implemented in the safest and efficient manner possible.\u00a0 Everyone on your team should be 100 percent knowledgeable in not only the completion of the routines &#8211;
