this podcast is going to be different from most you listen to.\u00a0 It&#8217;s based around exactly what the name implies &#8211; Warehouse Safety Tips.\u00a0 And since the people in that industry are busy &#8211; we know time is money, so each episode will be as short and to the point as possible.<\/p>\n<p>And now that all that is out of the way &#8211; let&#8217;s get to the Podcast!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>On our last podcast &#8211; I spoke about an artist named Christopher Paul Dean, who uses Safety Floor Tape in his artwork.\u00a0 The reason we showcased him was his out-of-the-box thinking.This week &#8211; I was trying to exercise my own out-of-the-box thinking, and it led me to the dual meanings of words.\u00a0 Specifically the word &#8220;Structure&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>When it comes to safety &#8211; I found the Oxford Dictionary&#8217;s verb definition to be most fitting.\u00a0 It&#8217;s defined as:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote><p>Construct or arrange according to a plan; give a pattern or organization to:<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div>Doesn&#8217;t that sound like the 5 and 6S Methodology we&#8217;ve covered in many of our podcasts?\u00a0 Plans are a must when it comes to safety.\u00a0 Remember what Benjamin Frankin said, \u201cIf you fail to plan, you are planning to fail!\u201d.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>But having a plan isn&#8217;t enough.\u00a0 To quote Benjamin Franking one more time, &#8220;Energy and persistence conquer all things.&#8221;.\u00a0 The energy he speaks of is action.\u00a0 The persistence is doing it over and over again until complete.\u00a0 Of course, we know that safety shouldn&#8217;t have a summit we ever reach.\u00a0 But instead &#8211; constantly striving to improve.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>I mentioned dual meanings.\u00a0 From what you apply safety to,\u00a0 I found the Oxford Dictionary&#8217;s noun definition to be most fitting.\u00a0 It&#8217;s defined as:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote><p>A building or other object constructed from several parts.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div>When working within your facility &#8211; be sure you&#8217;re ever mindful of the actual structure around you.\u00a0 I mean that in a literal sense.\u00a0 Especially when operating equipment such as lift trucks.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Pay extra attention to racks and posts.\u00a0 Running into these structures can cause everything from simple damage to a devasting collapse of either a rack and\/or portion of your building.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Whether it&#8217;s the guidelines you have in place or the physical items you apply them to &#8211;
