we know time is money, so each episode will be as short and to the point as possible.<\/p>\n<p>And now that all that is out of the way &#8211; let&#8217;s get to the Podcast!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>It&#8217;s Fall!\u00a0 We LOVE the season &#8211; but DO NOT like the action!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Slip and Fall Prevention isn&#8217;t a new topic to this podcast.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>We&#8217;ve covered it before, we&#8217;re going to cover it today, when Winter arrives in areas that get snow and ice &#8211; we&#8217;ll talk about it more, and it&#8217;ll keep coming up after that.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Do you see a trend here?\u00a0 It&#8217;s just THAT important!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>We aren&#8217;t naive, and fully realize some accidents just happen.\u00a0 But, notice we said &#8220;PREVENTION&#8221;?\u00a0 When it comes to safety, anything we can do to prevent things BEFORE they happen &#8211; we&#8217;re going to harp on it over and over again.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>In previous podcasts &#8211; we mentioned that Emergency Room visits exceed eight million per year due to falls.\u00a0 Although we hope it&#8217;s not &#8211; that number is probably MUCH higher now!\u00a0 And of those falls &#8211; approximately 12 percent are slip and fall accidents.\u00a0 What does this mean for facilities?\u00a0 Of course, the lost safety for its staff &#8211; but also lost time and money.\u00a0 And it CAN be avoided!\u00a0 Once again &#8211; PREVENTION!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>So what can you do to make your facility safe from slips and falls?\u00a0 Here are several tips to get started.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>If you&#8217;re in an area with regular rain, snow, and\/or ice &#8211; stamp and wipe your shoes\/boots off at entrances.<\/li>\n<li>Have mats and\/or fans at entrances and areas that get slick.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure there are floor markings and\/or signs alerting staff that areas are slick.<\/li>\n<li>Use floor markings and\/or signs with non-slip properties.<\/li>\n<li>Have maintenance regularly mop slick areas.<\/li>\n<li>And one of THE most important tips of all &#8211; if you see an area is wet or slick, alert the proper people and do one or several of the before mentioned tips.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>By just taking extra time at the moment &#8211; we&#8217;ll save a lot of time and money in the future, and most importantly &#8211;
