this podcast is going to be different from most you listen to.\u00a0 It&#8217;s based around exactly what the name implies &#8211; Warehouse Safety Tips.\u00a0 And since the people in that industry are busy &#8211; we know time is money, so each episode will be as short and to the point as possible.<\/p>\n<p>And now that all that is out of the way &#8211; let&#8217;s get to the Podcast!<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\nWhen it comes to examining safety at your facility, there are probably several items that get immediate attention &#8211; such as (Including, but not limited to):<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Fire Extinguishers are present and within inspection guidelines.<\/li>\n<li>Exit Signs are all properly lit.<\/li>\n<li>Safety Tape and Signs are all in good shape and visible.<\/li>\n<li>Important items and locations such as Eye Wash Stations, Chemical Showers, Fire Extinguishers, First Aid Kits, and Defibrillators are all clearly marked and visible.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>The above-mentioned items &#8211; are things you KNOW to check.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>When we say &#8220;Examining Safety&#8221; &#8211; what we&#8217;re looking for are the things that aren&#8217;t on the checklist.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>You can find things like this by:<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Standing in an area for 10-15 minutes, and paying close attention to everything that occurs.\u00a0 What are things that happened or didn&#8217;t happen during the time that could impact safety?<\/li>\n<li>Observe how the staff operates for an hour.\u00a0 What things did they do that contributed to or took away from safety?<\/li>\n<li>Walking the facility to look for any potential safety hazards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>We listed 3 items you can do to examine safety &#8211; but the list could contain dozens (If not hundreds) of items.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>But you don&#8217;t have to do them all at once.\u00a0 Break them up into daily and\/or weekly tasks &#8211; and just watch the improvements come in time.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Part of our 5S Methodology is &#8220;Sustain&#8221;.\u00a0 It&#8217;s the &#8220;S&#8221; that encourages us to maintain and improve every day.\u00a0 Examining safety on a regular basis and constantly improving upon it will make the implementation of &#8220;Sustaining&#8221; much easier.<\/div>\n<div>\nBefore moving on &#8211;
