this podcast is going to be different from most you listen to.\u00a0 It&#8217;s based around exactly what the name implies &#8211; Warehouse Safety Tips.\u00a0 And since the people in that industry are busy &#8211; we know time is money so each episode will be as short and to the point as possible.<\/p>\n<p>And now that all that is out of the way &#8211; let&#8217;s get to the Podcast!<\/p>\n<p>Everything In Its Place<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>I&#8217;ve always been envious of garages and workshops with outlines or labels on the wall for every tool or piece of equipment.\u00a0 This process allows you to save time looking for items &#8211; because they&#8217;re always in the same place.\u00a0 And you can immediately tell when something is missing.\u00a0 This makes day-to-day operations easier &#8211; and will help with overall inventory.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>In a garage or workshop, you know if something is missing, if it wasn&#8217;t you that was using it, then it had to be someone in your immediate circle.\u00a0 At a facility &#8211; that circle is probably much larger.\u00a0 So to streamline the process &#8211; you should either put one person in charge of checking items out or have some sort of camera monitoring.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>This process is the second step of The 5S Methodology &#8211; Straighten or Set In Order (Japanese Version &#8211; Seiton).\u00a0 It&#8217;s sometimes simplified as, &#8220;A place for everything and everything in its place.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>And it doesn&#8217;t have to be limited to tools and equipment.\u00a0 You can print identifying labels for everything at your facility &#8211;
