Safety Culture
In today’s podcast, we’ll talk about creating a safety culture.
So stay tuned.
You can find the show notes to each episode, links to the information mentioned on the podcast, the social media platforms we’re on, and anything else related to the podcast at WarehouseSafetyTips.com.
If you’re a seasoned Podcast Listener, this podcast will be different from most you listen to. It’s based around exactly what the name implies – Warehouse Safety Tips. And since the people in that industry are busy – we know time is money, so each episode will be as short and to the point as possible.
And now that all that is out of the way – let’s get to the Podcast!
Safety Culture
Have you ever heard the term ‘Culture’?
As it pertains to your facility – it’s the behaviors and procedures observed regularly (Or the ‘norm’).
The late Tony Hsieh – Founder of the shoe company Zappos – knew culture inside and out. So much so – Zappos would publish an annual Culture Book and make it available to the public. Tony and the Zappos Management would give a bonus to people that didn’t like their job (And/or do it within their culture) to leave. In addition – they’d help that person find a new job that did suit them. Imagine striving for that sort of culture in your workplace!
How do you look at Safety? Do you view it as something you must do when management is looking – or as a culture? Hopefully, it’s the latter!
When you view safety as a culture, you take pride in it, seek to improve it, and know your facility doesn’t operate correctly without it.
An engaged Safety Culture will improve quality, productivity, profits, and make your staff safer. What more can you ask for?
We look forward to seeing you next week for another Warehouse Safety Tips.
Until then, have a great week and STAY SAFE!
